Capriccio: Sink 《

Joyce Lee (1998-)

Co-conceiving with Hong Kong Young Composer Joyce Lee. An Open form Graphic score composition for multiple percussion, keyboard and live Electronics. The name "Sink" comes from the concept “behavioral sinking” by ethologist John B. Calhoun.

The approximate 6-minute performance corresponds to the transformation of demographic statistics (e.g. population growth rate, fertility rate, entire population) and social atmosphere over the 6 decades of Hong Kong, from the 1970s to the 2020s.
